Astrology is the study of how distant cosmic objects, like stars and planets, influence our lives. When we’re born, it’s believed that the position of the sun, stars, moon and planets help shape our personality, giving us a kind of predetermined bio of who we might be as people; like a roadmap for our individual identities.
To get a more accurate reading, astrologers check to see what position each planet was in at the time of your birth. The planets and signs combine with other elements, such as elements and modalities, to form a complex, and often pretty specific, profile of someone’s personality.

Swiss psychoanalyst Carl Jung was one of the first to recognize the enormous potential of using astrology to explore the depths of the human psyche. Throughout his life and his writings, Jung referenced his profound respect for astrology, asserting that astrology had a great deal to contribute to psychology; he even admitted to using it in his analytical work with clients. In cases of difficult psychological diagnosis, Jung would draw up a horoscope so he could get an entirely different angle on the subject. He referred to astrology as “the science of antiquity.”
